The Hôtel de Clary is also known as the “Hôtel Bagis” or even the “Hôtel de Pierre”. Jean de Bagis, President of the Parliament is at the origin of this beautiful residence. Its construction was in three stages: 16th, 17th and 19th centuries. It was in the 16th century that the general structure was built. The courtyard of the stone façade had richly decorated sculptures that were signed by the architect and sculptor Nicolas Bachelier, author of numerous books in Toulouse. It was with François de Clary that the building had its stone façade added which gave it the nickname of l'oustal peiro: stone house.
