  • Built in 1846, the Jolimont observatory is one of the best conserved in France. It combines a series of astronomy instruments listed in the historical heritage (transit telescope, refractory sky map telescope, 830mm telescope, a large 38cm lens telescope restored in 2009).

The Jolimont observatory is the headquarters of the Société d'Astronomie Populaire (SAP). Its team of member volunteers are amateur astronomers who also help the general public, within the limited means available, to discover astronomy through conferences, tours and events such as: la Nuit des étoiles, la Fête de la Science, the "Journées du Patrimoine", and observations of astronomical phenomena.
