  • The famous Maurand Tower contains two 12th century vaulted rooms, its upper floors were demolished following the conviction of Pierre Maurand in 1178 for heresy as a Cathar. It was the most ostentatious part of the manor of this rich man of Toulouse, later assimilated as part of the College founded in 1360 by the Cardinal H. de Talleyrand Périgord, to house students from the University. On the street there are still leftover stone from the door of the chapel of this college and in the courtyard of the n ° 56, his 14th century wooden gallery. This tower, along with the VINHAS Tower, are the oldest towers in Toulouse.
